Welcome to Na Loio

Immigrant Rights and Public Interest Legal Center

Na Loio is a statewide legal services agency. It provides legal assistance on immigration and immigration-related issues for indigent immigrants who are victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking, as well as human trafficking. It also offers brief legal advice on these issues over the phone to abused immigrants, service providers, agencies and others, regardless of income.

What We Are

We are a non-profit organization committed to providing immigration legal services and advocacy in the public interest for people living in Hawai’i with particular emphasis on serving poor and low-income immigrants and their families.

Our Core Value

We are the only agency in Hawai’i providing critically needed immigration legal services for those who cannot afford to hire an attorney.

Immigrants throughout history have contributed to the rich fabric of Hawai’i. Each successive immigrant group arriving in Hawai’i has brought their hopes for freedom and safety. Many of our parents’ and grandparents’ first experiences in the United States were clouded by discrimination, intolerence, and abuse. Yet, they never abandoned their determination to make a better life for the future. They stood together in the face of discrimination, founded small businesses, organized unions in work places, and established schools, churches, and cultural centers. Promoting the interest of all people living in Hawai’i, Na Loio works to protect the civil rights of newly-arrived and long-time resident immigrants and refugees by providing immigration legal services, community education, and advocacy.

Founded in 1983, Na Loio offers a full range of legal services, community education, and advocacy for those who are among the poorest, most vulnerable members of our community.
